Slipcover for our camera strap

I finally got around to making a slipcover for our camera strap.  It is always rewarding to beautify something with just a bit of time.  This was truly one of the easiest things I’ve ever sewn.  It does tend to slide around just a little, so next time I might make it slightly tighter.

T-shirt Scarf

This scarf was made out of an old t-shirt!  I cut it into 4 by 4 squares and lined them up on the diagonal.  Next I did a zig-zag stitch down the middle, making sure the catch the points of every square.  The squares drape nicely.  I want to make a few more of these [...]

Stripped necktie

I was able to find some silk tie scraps on etsy and couldn’t resist!  I wanted to make a tie out of them for my little guy but had no idea how to go about it.  I looked around and found quite a few pictures of different ones others have made, so I just cut [...]

Sewing Kit

I recently got some really cute fat quarters and didn’t know what I wanted to do with them.  I haven’t been sewing as much lately and feel out of the flow!  I have also been loving the ruffle trend in everything, so I added some ruffles to the front of the bag.  I’m using this [...]

New Sewing Machine!

Guess what?  I finally got a new sewing machine!  My husband recently wanted to sew a pen case and came to understand my frustration with my old machine.  A few days later he came with me to run a few errands and we had to stop at the fabric store!  He started looking at machines [...]

Quick Clutch

I wanted to make a clutch to carry all of the important things in my purse, but also be able to hold my phone too.  This way I can just throw the clutch in my diaper bag and not always have to lug around my purse too.  Unfortunately I tried to sew this project as [...]

Oilcloth

We bought a highchair from Ikea for our little guy.  I really like it and Jonah seems to be pretty comfy in it too.  We bought the chair cushion that went along with it.  It is just a simple rectangular pillow that sits in the seat.  It was covered in a stripped plush material that [...]

Sock Dog

I finished the sock animal that I wanted to make.  It was a really fun process and it didn’t take very long at all.  I loved sewing this by hand.  I made the dog patten in the book, but had a hard time deciding which animal to make.  It is almost as big as my [...]

Sock and Glove Book

I just received this book in the mail and I’m so excited to make a sock animal from it!  My cousin Sarah has made a couple of sock dogs for her kiddos and they are super cute.  There are all kinds of animals and I’m having a hard time deciding which one I want to [...]

Pink Quilt

I finally got to make a pink quilt!  I miss sewing on a regular basis so much!  My creative juices are alittle bitter!  I haven’t actually given this quilt to my friend Heater yet, so I hope she is not reading this!  Her baby was born at 26 wks and is only a month younger [...]
